We love brunch. The only thing we love more than brunching in NYC? Brunching around the world of course. So before leaving I researched the best brunch places in Reykjavik. The CooCoo Nest was at the top of the list and turned out to be best brunch spot in Reykjavik. But beyond being a cool place they served up some delicious dishes that are equally #foodporn worthy.
Here’s our Coocoo Nest Brunch review.
Located along the old Harbor this Italy and Cali inspired eatery is the cutest brunch spot in Reykjavik. Of course such cool places have a wait and ours was around 20 minutes. But like my mother always said anything worth having is worth waiting for. The restaurant was packed with locals it seemed we were the only tourist which is always a good sign.
The menu although large like a lot of brunch menus had a really great selection. We got the blueberry pancakes, breakfast burrito and eggs Benedict. They were all delicious but the blueberry pancakes were a stand out. The blueberry compote/syrup was seriously so good I forget i was eating blue berries.
Everything was fresh and the wait staff were very sweet and gave great recommendations. They gifted us mimosa on the house which were delicious and totally counted towards a fruit serving in my opinion. Honestly this place was so cool and cozy it made it really hard to get up, we wanted to lounge around there all morning. If you can’t make it to brunch they have pizza nights that I hear are equally amazing.
