Go on Instagram and you wont have to scroll too far before you spot a sunset pic in Bali. More often than not that said picture will have been taken at the Rock Bar Bali. Of course when we moved to Bali we knew that we would need to witness a Rock Bar Bali sunset in person.

We arrived and spent the day lounging at the pool before sunset. After getting showered and ready we headed down to the funiculars for our ride down to the cliff side bar. Our reservation was at 5 and we arrived earlier to to make sure we wouldn’t miss our reservation. The drinks were yummy and we feasted on a bunch of the menus small bites like; feta sagnaki, potato samosas, fries and their delectable ice cream burgers.
When sunset came it did not disappoint. With the vast sky and Indian Ocean as backdrop this was a spectacular sunset. The sky was painted a bright burnt orange that soon turned into a cotton candy pink. As soon as the sun dips below the horizon the bar gets illuminated with lights and bar really thins out. Stick around to avoid the long lines back up the funicular and grab another drink. If you are lucky you might even catch a world class Dj playing here.
Sunset at AYANA Rock Bar Bali is a must when you are you Bali!
How to Visit
If you are staying at the resort priority seats allocated to hotel guests at the bar area. However you do not have to be a guest to enjoy the rock bar. You need to make a reservation once you arrive at the hotel if you are a guest. Outside visitors can show up and queue at the top of the cliff till seats become available. Prepare to come early. When we got there an our before sunset it was nearly packed. So if you are not a guest you may need to get here two hours earlier. The Rock Bar opens daily from 4:00 pm but get here early if you wish to cement your space at the bar.

Smart attire is required at ALL times. No singlets, board-shorts, alcohol-branded attire will be permitted.
In adherence to security measures, backpacks are also not allowed at Rock Bar. We saw a few couples being turned away because guys were in board shorts.
