Could Matisse have the best croque in NYC? Have you ever had a Croque Madame? If you answered yes than you know how delicious this French staple is. If you answered no then get on it, like this weekend. On a random whim Amanda and I stumble upon this French restaurant nestled in midtown east.
Matisse Brunch New York City
Matisse, so small and inconspicuous you wouldn’t think anything of it. Yet that would be a grave mistake. Inside the staff is warm and inviting. Giving you plenty of time to look over the menu and give great recommendations. It really does feel like a little bistro located off of one of those random yet lovely Parisian streets.
Their brunch menu is large, which usually makes picking an entree difficult for a foodie like me.
Amanda and I both settled on croque madames. I have eaten a lot of croques and this has to be my favorite outside of Paris. It came with a side salad that was just as delicious. Amanda and I found ourselves taking our time and savoring every cheesy carb filled bite. Never one to turn down desert, we shared their homemade apple tart which was orgasmic.
This has to be my favorite brunch spot in midtown and somewhere you’re sure to see me at again. So if you are looking to pretend you’re in Paris for the day grabbing a croquet, check them out.
