As the title would suggest I have a something big to announce.Come April 1, I will be leaving New York and heading to Southeast Asia to travel long term. Wow even writing that sentence I still can’t believe that this is real. I have been roughly planning this for about a year. I knew I wanted to travel full time in early 2017. I was iffy about the timing I just knew I needed to save money and I wanted to leave in 2018.
To keep myself accountable I decided to tell my best friends and family.
While a lot of people didn’t think I was serious, most were super supportive of the plan. I originally intended on traveling on my own but once I told Ashley we both decided we wanted to do it together. Just like that everything fell into place. We decided on April 1 about a year ago so we could save money and that was when Ashley’s lease would be up.
Now that we are a month out I cannot believe how quickly time has passed. We have been talking about this for so long that I felt it was never going to be here. I know things have been a bit quiet on the blog for the past month. I couldn’t wait to share this news with you all but I wanted to wait until I had squared things away at work.
Now that the cat is outta the bag I can’t wait to share everything with you.
So what does this mean for the blog? I am so excited to do this full time and focus all my energy on creating amazing content for you guys. There is a ton of post coming where I will discuss what I am packing, where we are going and how I am able to travel long term. It also means more blog posts about places that you have been asking for like Bali and the Philippines. I am also in the very early stages of starting a youtube channel so I’m excited for that to happen in a couple of months.
Probably the biggest change will be that I will be getting more personal on here. While I know everyone loves our guides and tips I get a lot of you asking for more personal stuff. While I have always been more comfortable behind the scenes and lens I think its time you all go to see a different side of me.
So I will be sharing more about myself, my story and my travel journey.
I want to give a big thanks to all those who have supported me on this journey. I especially want to thank my best friends Priscilla, Amanda and Sam. Thank you for letting me talk your ears off and for always supporting me, I love you guys. And of course to Ashley for joining me on this insane journey. For keeping me calm when I had meltdowns and being down for anything. I cannot imagine doing this with anyone else and nor would I want to. Lastly, I want to thank my amazing family. While you may not have always understood it, you all have given me the space to live my dream while supporting me every step of the way.
Thank you all for your support
