Perfect Food Day In Montreal | Canada

Perfect Food Day Montreal | Foodie Montreal | Brunch Suite 701 | Food Guide Montreal

My favorite way to spend a day in a new city is eating my way through it. So that is exactly what we did on the first day of 2017 in Montreal. Montreal is known as a trendy food destination and we were welcomed with open arms on our food journey.

Here is our girls guide to a foodie in Montreal.

We started the day with brunch (of course) at Suite 701 in the Ville-Marie neighborhood of the city. Even though this space has a lounge/cluby vibe, it also has large windows, shining in bright, natural light.

Since we were there on New Year’s Day, the restaurant had a special holiday brunch menu that was out of this world. For $39 CAD each, we received a smoothie to start, a plate of pastries, a watermelon and feta salad, an entrée of our choosing, and finally, a maple glazed donuts smothered in whipped cream for dessert.

AKA enough to feed a small army.

The smoothie was a nice little healthy kick to start the new year. Yet the mimosa was a much better cure for our NYE hangovers. My favorite part of brunch was, without a doubt, the pastry plate. The plate came with croissants, scones, berries, jam, compounded butter, and a giant cinnamon roll drenched in icing. It’s safe to say our perfect food day venture of 2017 was off to a good start.

Since brunch ended up being quite a feast, we opted to skip lunch and wait for dinner. Despite such a large meal, we were naturally starving by 7pm.  For dinner we opted to eat at La Société. The second we walked in, we felt like we were transported to Paris. The restaurant was filled with big booths and chalkboard menus on the walls gave this spot a bistro feel.

The stained-glass ceiling above the center of the room screamed Paris.

We ordered the cheese plate, pasta, roasted brussel sprouts, which was our attempt at being healthy, and the cheeseburger (because hangovers at age 25 can last all day). The food was amazing and the drinks even better.I ordered the “Dusk Till Dawn”, which consisted of scotch, limoncello, bitters, and prosecco and garnished with a cheese cube (lol) on the side. Any restaurant that adds cheese to any/all dishes is a favorite in my book.

If you’re looking for Paris feels in Montreal, La Société is a must.

Whether you’re brunching or looking for a cozy dinner spot in Montreal, Suite 701 and La Société are definitely worth checking out. From the food to the atmosphere, you will not be disappointed.

I hope you enjoy our little taste of wanderlust and are inspired along the way!
