Aruba Caribbean

Aruba for Two | Couple’s Travel Guest Post

When my boyfriend and I were searching for somewhere to vacation we had a lot on our list. We wanted somewhere we could relax by the water but that also had fun activities to do. After a ton of research we decided that Aruba would be a perfect place to spend our first international vacation together.

We flew Jet Blue and stayed at the Hotel Riu Palace Antillas an 18+ resort. What was great was that we were still able to use the facilities from the connecting hotel Hotel Riu Palace Aruba. Both hotels were all-inclusive and were located on Palm Beach. According to Lonely Planet “North Americans fleeing winter make Aruba the most touristed island in the southern Caribbean.”

Which was no surprise to us because the weather was perfect everyday.

We had plenty of activities to keep us busy when we weren’t soaking up the sun on the beach, relaxing by the pool/Jacuzzi, or lying on rafts in the ocean. We went paddle boarding and snorkeling which were two highlights of our trip. We also took a private boat that led us to separate area where we drove a jet skis. We also went on a sunset cruise where we got to rope swing off the boat.

We loved all the water actives.

Back at the resort there was still a ton to do. We partook in a bunch of the actives like Zumba, aqua- aerobics and bingo. We utilized the all-inclusive amenities in the hotel such as the restaurants, the pool table and the gym.  At night we hit up the open bars and the casino. There was even karaoke, acrobatic shows, talent contests, dance shows, and concerts. So there was a ton to do if you didn’t want to leave the resort. We ventured out a bit a night to spend some time downtown where we ate at different restaurants, checked out the shops, and went to the clubs.

Exploring downtown is a must.

It was the best vacation. We definitely recommend Aruba to anyone who is looking for a relaxing time but still wants to have fun. Our resort gave us the perfect jumping off point to do both and some adventure stuff as well.

Now that we’ve ticked off Aruba we can’t wait to travel again together.
